The Lion
Oh, weep for Mr. and Mrs. Bryan!
He was eaten by a lion;
Following which, the lion's lioness
Up and swallowed Bryan's Bryaness.
Ogden Nash (1902-1971)

Cats
Cats sleep
Anywhere,
Any table,
Any chair,
Top of piano,
Window-ledge,
in the middle,
On the edge,
Open drawer,
Empty shoe,
Anybody's
Lap will do,
Fitted in a
Cardboard box,
In the cupboard
With your frocks-
Anywhere!
They don't care!
Cats sleep
Anywhere.
Eleanor Farjeon

Communication
Whether resenting the personal insult of rain,
upstaging her perennial enemy, the dog,
or cuffing the nonsense out of an explosion of kittens,
my unflappable cat
speaks more eloquently than many
an over-diploma'd diplomat.
